The National Society of the Colonial Dames of America

Founded in 1891, the National Society of the Colonial Dames of America actively promotes our national heritage through historic preservation, patriotic service, and educational projects. The organization has earned the Trustee Emeritus Award for Excellence in the Stewardship of Historic Sites from the National Trust for Historic Preservation.

Great American Treasures

The Historic Indian Agency House is a member of a national collection of 60+ historical properties known as Great American Treasures. Wisconsin Society, Established 1896

The Wisconsin Society of the NSCDA owns and operates the Historic Indian Agency House in Portage, Wisconsin. NSCDA-WI also jointly manages Kilbourntown House (also known as the Benjamin Church House) in Shorewood, Wisconsin, in partnership with the Milwaukee County Historical Society and Milwaukee County Parks.
