Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the Fort Winnebago Surgeons Quarters offers tours of two 19th-century buildings: the surgeon's quarters, which was part of historic Fort Winnebago, and Garrison School. Purchase joint tickets to visit both the Historic Indian Agency House and Fort Winnebago Surgeons Quarters at a reduced rate.

Visit the Portage Historical Society's Museum at the Portage, and discover the ins-and-outs of local Portage history. Admission is free. Donations are appreciated.

Completed in 1876 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the Portage canal was used until 1951 as a connecting waterway between the Fox and Wisconsin rivers. Beginning at the Agency House, the canal parallels Agency House Road and continues through downtown Portage.
