Policies for in-person tours

The safety of our visitors and staff is important to us. We all need to do our part so that we may have a safe and enjoyable season together!

  • If you have any symptoms of illness, test positive for Covid-19, are awaiting results from a Covid-19 test, or have been recently exposed to someone with Covid-19 (even if you have no symptoms), please wait for at least two weeks to take a tour.

If you have one or more of these symptoms or are otherwise not feeling well, please wait at least two weeks before taking a tour:

  • Sore throat

  • Cough

  • Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing

  • Fever over 99 degrees

  • Unusual tiredness/fatigue

  • Chills

  • Muscle aches

  • New loss of taste or smell

  • Rash/purple or red bumps on toes or hands

  • Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea

  • Masks are required

Face coverings must be worn by both staff and visitors during all tours and events. Please bring your own mask. A limited number of cloth masks may be available for purchase on site, but we do not guarantee they will be in stock when you visit.

  • Practice social distancing

Please remain 6 feet (2 meters) away from others.

  • Group size is limited.  Consider calling ahead, if possible (608-742-6362).

A maximum of 6 individuals is allowed on a tour to maintain social distancing. Drop-in visitors may need to wait for an available tour time.

  • Keep hands clean

Please use hand sanitizer when you arrive. We will have some available, but if you are able to bring your own, it will help us conserve resources. Please also avoid touching surfaces whenever possible.

  • Our staff will be careful to clean!

Our staff will disinfect frequently-touched surfaces throughout the day.

Policies for outdoor events

Currently, our precautions for scheduled outdoor events are similar to those for indoor tours. These policies may change as the season progresses, but at this time, these precautions will best protect our visitors and staff. Thank you for your cooperation!

  • If you have any symptoms of illness, test positive for Covid-19, are awaiting results from a Covid-19 test, or have been recently exposed to someone with Covid-19 (even if you have no symptoms), please do not attend an event for at least 2 weeks.

  • Masks are currently required.

Face coverings (cloth or disposable) must be worn during events at the present time. This may change as the season progresses. Even though events are safer outdoors, depending on the number of people present, masks offer an extra level of protection in case it is difficult to maintain proper social distancing at times.

  • Check ahead of time to see if pre-registration is required

It is possible that we may need to limit numbers of participants at any given time depending on the situation. Please also check our events page before you come to determine if you must pre-register for an event.

Live virtual tours are available

We are offering online tours for your enjoyment from the convenience and safety of your home. A docent will guide you through the brand-new visitor center exhibit and the Agency House itself. Because the tour is live, reservations must be made a minimum of 2 business days in advance.

Thank you so much for your patience and understanding as we work together to provide a safe and enjoyable museum experience for everyone during this pandemic.
