Bold Lives: Stories of Impact

History doesn't just flow along on its own. People are involved! The course of history is influenced by each person who has ever lived, including you and me! This "Bold Lives" learning guide examines people from the past who stand out because they did things differently, made decisions that greatly affected others, or developed influential ideas. Some bold lives from the past are well-known, but many of them are largely unknown. Some are remembered for doing good things, and some are remembered for the harm they caused. Bold does not always mean brave, famous, or publicly applauded. Bold  just describes common people like you and me doing something uncommon which ended up making a big impact.

Paul Harvey was a popular radio show host - a masterful storyteller who wove little-known facts about famous people into suspenseful storylines. At the end, he revealed who the individual was, and the answer was usually surprising!

In a similar way, we've woven  together some mysterious and fascinating stories for you.  Consider some intriguing clues about people whose lives connected in some way with the Fox-Wisconsin portage. See if you can correctly match the backstories to "the rest of the story!"
