Wreath Making Workshop

During our wreath making workshop, you will create your own unique evergreen wreath to take home. All materials and instructions are included. The cost is $20 per person. The class will be limited to 20 people, so reservations are highly encouraged (sign up through Facebook or email historicindianagencyhouse@gmail.com). If space remains on the day of the event, walk-ins will be welcome to join us. It’ll be a great day to spend with friends!
Kiddie Christmas

Join us for our 13th annual Kiddie Christmas at the Historic Indian Agency House! Come for the whole event, or pop in for a couple of activities. At 1:00, there will be a fun and educational puppet show. At 1:15, enjoy story time with Mrs. Claus, followed by a photo opportunity with both Mr. and Mrs. Claus and John and Juliette Kinzie. By 1:45, several fun craft stations will be up and running. Pick your favorite, or make them all! At 2:30, join us for a wintry nature walk (please dress for the weather). The cost is FREE, but a donation would be very much appreciated. Children must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
Opening Day Celebration

Archaeology Kids' Camp
May 18-30, 2020
Children will learn hands-on what it takes to be an archaeologist. This day camp will be offered to 3rd grade school groups Wednesday through Friday each week from May 18-29. On Saturday, May 30, this STEM-based camp will be offered to community children. Space is limited, and days will fill up quickly. Be sure to register early.

Mobile Museum Booth at the Midwest Horse Fair
April 17-19, 2020
We will have a booth set up right next to the blazing forges of the World Championship Blacksmiths Competition all weekend! The work of blacksmiths who served Native tribes through Indian Agencies in the early 19th century is a special focus.

Presentation at the Ice Age Trail Annual Conference

We will present, “The Agency House at the Portage: Geographic Intersection, Cultural Crossroads” at the Ice Age Trail conference in Stevens Point. Situated along the Ice Age Trail at the geographically-important area of the Portage, the Historic Indian Agency House became a cultural meeting ground where perceptions were challenged and transformed.
